Toyota Vans - Early Alternator Failure

Due to the location where the alternator (AL214X, AL374X) on some Toyota Vans is mounted, water intrusion and road debris may enter the alternator and send it to an early grave. To prevent this, Toyota has released a retro-fit cover/shield (p/n 27029-72030) which should be installed next to the left frame rail beneath the alternator after replacing the alternator to extend its life span.
