Using Locating Pin in Renault Starter Installation

When installing starters used in Renault applications (Bosch reman. p/n SR214X, SR569X, and SR603X) a locating pin is used to correctly position the starter in relation to the flywheel. The use of this locating pin ensures correct engagement of the starter drive pinion gear with the flywheel upon starting. In order to properly install these starters you should tell your customers to see if the old locating pin is still in the bell housing or the old starter, after removing the old starter. In either case, it should be discarded and the new locating pin (supplied with the Bosch reman. units) should be installed in its place. (Instruction bulletins have been packaged with these part numbers.)
