'89-91 Excel/Scoupe - No-Start Problems

Owners of 1989-1991 Hyundai Excels and Scoupes (p/n SR168X) frequently complained of starters that "hang up" or have intermittent no-start problems. Simply replacing the starter will not cause the ghost-like problem to go away. Hyundai has recognized this fact and has developed a starter relay and wiring harness kit to remedy this situation (p/n 91401-24Q00). The only real trick involved with installing this kit is obtaining one. It is not available through your local Hyundai Parts Distribution Center; instead you must contact the Regional District Parts and Service Manager or Field Technical Manager to get your hands on one of these kits.
