Honda

Honda Vehicles - No Start/Discharged Battery

1991-1992 Honda Accord, Acura Integra

Symptoms: The battery is continually discharged, which leads to a "No Start" condition.

Probable Cause: This condition can be traced to a faulty glove box light.

Corrective Action: All models with continually discharged batteries should have the glove box light switch inspected. If the glove box door is properly aligned and the light remains on; the glove box switch plunger is too short. To fix this Honda has released a retro-fit tube cap (Part # 34254-SM4-013 for Honda and 34245-SP0-A03 for Acura) to fit over the original Switch Plunger and extend it to the proper length to shut off the light when the glove box door is closed.
