1990-94 Laser/Talon- No Charge or Repeated Failures

Reports of repeated failures or out-of-the-box no charge units on AL4001X, AL4002X, AL4005X, and AL4006X (1990-1994 Lasers and Talons) can usually be traced to a Blown Sub Fusible Link. The generator sub fusible link is an 80 amp fusible link which is found in the right-hand side engine compartment relay box. This fuse is commonly overlooked when trouble-shooting charging problems on these vehicles. If the sub fusible link is blown, it will cause the charging system not to function.
