Compressor Identification

When trying to identify a compressor, there are several details that you should know. Listed below is a checklist to use to correctly match the compressor.

• What is the make, model, and year of the vehicle?
• What type of compressor is it? (Nippondenso, Hitachi, Sanden, etc.)
• What is the compressor type code? (Example: Hitachi MJS170-5DC)
• How does the compressor mount? (ears, pads, crossbolt, etc.)
• What type of clutch is on the compressor? (single groove, double groove, serpentine)
• Does the compressor have any special switches or pop off valves?
• What is the O.E. number on the compressor?
